Tape Attack plays in a neon-soaked world, where nostalgia meets cutting-edge gaming! In this thrilling game, you take control of a rolling ball on a mission to protect a relic from the '80s in a retro-style arena.
What sets "Tape Attack" apart is its unique gameplay. With physics-based movement, you'll experience the exhilaration of navigating your ball around the arena while interacting with objects to keep the movement interesting. But it's not just about rolling around. You'll also engage in intense battles with old-school arcade monsters, using your ball's special abilities to fend off these pixelated foes from capturing a holy relict straight out of the 80s.
This game was created for the "ScoreSpace Jam #17" game jam in 3 days on itch.io. We worked in a team of two developers and one 3d artist. Tape Attack scored the 4th place out of 144 submissions and was awarded 2nd place in Aesthetics!
Gameplay: I programmed the physics-based movement, as well as the attacks, wich include the ability to dash and a stomp attack (still in development).
Enemies: I programmed the enemies and their attacking behavior. I created and programmed the minimap.
Upgrade System: I helped implement an upgrade system, access player stats and fine-tune the difficulty of the game. This included creating a leveling system for the player.
